I recently purchased a used Nashville 400 which works great but hums badly half of the time, with or without my steel plugged into it. I thought it was strange that the power cord did not have a ground on it. I realize that this works better for some situtations, (although potentially dangerous) but what about other times? should I find a way to connect a ground? I tried searching the electronics section to no avail...
thanks,
Brian

I'd run to the hardware store and buy a new 3-prong grounded plug, and CORRECTLY install it on the cable. You should always have a safety ground. Electric and steel guitarists are always at risk of completing a circuit thru their body because we have our hands on electrically connected strings. You don't want to mess around with this one. It can be serious bizness if the conditions are right.

The Nashville 400's came with the 3 prong grounded AC plug. Whoever did that "butchered" the plug.

You may order the factory power cable by calling toll free at 1-877-732-8391, ext.1386. Our Parts Crew will be glad to assist.

It is very important that you have the correct AC cable(power cable).
