I purchased one of these some months back in hope of building a Stereo Steel rig. I had heard they are great units with great delay, reverb and chorus (about all I use on a limited basis).
The problem I see is that it does not have a built in preamp, like a Tubefex etc., so a seperate preamp and power amp would be needed.
I am curious of how and if others are using this processor.
Thanks,
Lefty |

Lefty, I use an MPX 1 in my rack with a Revelation preamp and a Stewart World 1.2 amp. Works great

I am using the MPX-G2 which is very similar with a Walker Stereo Steel Amp. The sound is wonderful and with the separate effect send on the Stereo Steel you just dial in the amount of the effect you want.

I go into a Revelation Pre Amp, effects out and in to/from the MPX1, through a dbx compressor, into a Peavey DPC 1400 Amp, into two Evans cabinets. Gives me a great sound! |

i run my MPX1 as an effects unit into my PV Nash1000 & stereo PA cabs
i'm quite satisfied
i use mostly reverb, delay, some chorus or leslie & tremolo
in your case Lefty, looks like you need a preamp ( mesa boogie, Peavey, Evans, & TC)
good luck |

Hook, I took the MPX1 out of my rack because I couldn't figure out how to run the rev. & delay parallel so it would work well with the Revelation's fx loop. I know there's a way to do that I think in "Global" settings. I went to the TC Electronics 300 partially because it has a real switch on the rear panal for just that--running fx parallel. I much prefer the MPX1 for sound smoothness/richness qualities. Any advise for the digital menu challenged? |
