I can't figure out how to make it stay completely in the off position. It keeps popping back up to a low volume position. I would like to adjust it so the guitar is muted when I'm not behind it, like when I'm on break. Does any body know the trick to this? |

I believe you would just remove the plate, keep your pedal in the up (low volume position), loosen the screw holding the string, turn the pot completely counterclockwise, then tighten down the string.

Chris - Is yours a passive pedal with a pot and string inside, or is it electronic, requiring an electrical source? |

Lee, it's a pot pedal with the built-in matchbox pre amp. I have it open here right now and I'm fooling with it.
I haven't a clue about the workings of volume pedals, really. I loosened and retightened the string, now it won't stay back at all. I can't believe I've let myself be ignorant to the functioning of this important piece of gear for so long.[This message was edited by Chris LeDrew on 05 June 2006 at 08:12 PM.] |

Michael, what you suggested would help if the pedal would not go down to zero volume. But I think Chris has a different problem: it won't stay at zero when he takes his foot off. |

I ran into that slight problem with my volume-pedal which mounts on the pedal-bar and extra spring~tension would not hold the pedal up! (in an OFF-position) I finally realized that I had to tighten the screws on either side of the pivot~point. (where the top-section is mounted to the bottom-section) It just needed a little more friction between the (2)-halves of the pedal! I had loosened the side~screws slightly, thinking the action would be a little smoother, however; it made it too smooth¡

Can anybody tell me how to reattach the string properly, so the pedal will function at least as good as it was before? I take it you need to have a certain amount of pressure on the string before you attach it. I seem to be either attaching it too loose or too tight. The pedal either won't open at all, or won't stay closed. |

I sent the drawings for the string to you.
I did one like yours the ohter day. I noticed you have two choices:
1-voluume all the way off but pedeal does not go to full volume
2-volume all the way on but at the off positon it is ever so slightly on.
I chose option #2 and was very pleased with the overall performance of the pedal.
