Peavy 112
For Dan Burham:
I do not have a 112, but recently heard Billy Phelps play through one useing an enhancer.
The enhancer looks like a amp rack but enclosed so that the sound that comes out of the back, is channeled like a tunnel and comes out of the bottom; made a 100% difference in the sound.
Billy probably won't mind you emailing him at FCSOUND@aol.com, he can tell how to get one, might be that he sells them.

I heard Billy using that thing over in Katy at a steel jam one afternoon. It really seemed to me like it added a lot of "bottom end" to the 112....Unfortunately, I have never heard him play the same set-up without the enhancer box, so I am not sure how big the difference would be...Bobby Bowman was there, he might shed some light on it....James

The Sound Enhancer makes your amp sound about 2 or 3 times larger than it is. Its a simple design but it works. I've built several for local players and they are all crazy about them.
[This message was edited by Eddie Thomas on 13 May 2006 at 12:31 PM.]

How much do they cost? Did Billy get his from you? I may be wrong, but it seems like his was like some sort of molded plastic thing on wheels. But that could be very well be incorrect as that’s been a while back and I really don’t remember that much about it. I do recall it tilted it at a really playable angle and it seemed to deepen the sound....James

I too have a Sound Enhancer that I use with my Peavey 112 and I love it.

I have been hearing about these things for a while ,now. SSSOOOO... I built one for myself and my Peavey 112. WOW!!! what a difference it makes. The previous posts are correct... I call it my KICK'R Stand. It does bring out the bottom end, and it seems to have a more of an "in your face" type of attack. According to JR Knight, it makes the amp sound a lot bigger and more powerful.
I really love the one I built.
If anyone goes to the Tulsa Show this weekend, I will have mine there for you to try out, if you wish to.
If you would like more info on my stand please e-mail me through the forum or at drumpac@earthlink.net
Later, see you in Tulsa, Paul
