I have recently had a new Canadian pot put into my emmons pedal...I like to set my pedal to have very little volume at the off position...now the problem...when I play at home though my mossvalve 1500 and profex11, everythings is fine...BUT on stage, and into my Webb, the volume is too loud at the same off position..now I've being playing for 35 yrs and never had this problem..is it the pot or a problem with the in-home sound equipment?? I never have changed my settings on any of my equipment once I got them like I wanted some years ago...stumped |

Most players want the volume completely "off" when the pedal is backed off completely. Now, if you want some sound coming out with the pedal all the way off, you're going to have to turn something (your Profex?) up or down so that both systems match, volume-wise. There is no way to correct for this at the pedal, and it doesn't have anything to do with your new pot! Your volume pedal is putting exactly the same signal into two different amps, which are both designed and set differently. Hence, the volumes are different, unless you make corrections. |

On my Emmons pedal, the pot has more rotation ability than the travel of the pedal.
I prefer this, as I can set it so that the pot is fully rotated at pedal down position, but not fully off at the pedal up position.
To alter this, release the spring that holds the pedal twine tight, put the pedal in fully down position, and manually turn the pot back a small amount.
Put the spring back on, and, with a bit of trial and error, find the spot that suits you, and you're good to go |
