About a month ago I bought a Roland mini-cube amp to use as a light-weight portable amp for my SuperSlide, and (because why not?) I plugged the mini-cube into my NV112 and played the SS through it. WOW ! Did that ever add to the sound of an already super amp ! I couldn't ask for a better sounding steel guitar ! |

Hi Ed,
I've got a NV1000 and a MicroCube. I never thought of using both at once.
How did you do the hookup? I'd like to try this.
Thanks,

With both amps and their volumes off, just run a (standard 1/4") cord out the back of the MicroCube to the input of your amp, and plug your guitar into the MC's input. Turn on the MC first, then the main amp.
Set the respective volume/tone controls as prefered per amp model.
Caution should be used to prevent 'jack pop', possible damage and such by using your main amp's volume controls judiciously (turn it down). |

Hi Paul,
I just run the guitar cord to the input jack on top of the Micro-Cube, then run a cord from the headphone jack of the micro-cube to the high gain input jack on the NV112 amp. I use just a tad of reverb on the micro-cube and set it to "Brit-Combo". I have the micro-cube volume and gain both set at the 3rd notch up.
My NV112 settings are : pre-gain 7,
low -12, mid about +1 or so, shift on 300,
high all the way to the right (clockwise),
presence all the way to the left (counter-clockwise, master reverb about 8.5, master gain about 2.5 .
I'm sure other players prefer different settings and methods, but this sure does it for me ! Lemme know how it works . . .

Thanks! I tried and it works great! A little residual hiss came in, but I got rid of it with the treble controls on the NV1000. Like a new effects box, eh? What fun! Great idea. |
