Sonny,
You won't get very good results playing bass through an open back amp. You will blow most any type speaker.

Check out the Eminence Deltas - I live in a city apartment, so I can't turn up my amps very loud, and I use a cabinet loaded with a single 10" Eminence Delta for bass, steel, and electric guitar (it's a closed-back cab, though...)

How about a new Peavey combo bass amp? Our latest offering in a small compact bass amp is the MAX Series. Here's the link; http://www.peavey.com/products/browse.cfm/action/list/cat/12/begin/1/MAX+Series.cfm

I've played bass through my NV400 on many occasions, as long as I stay out of the volume knob, it sounds great. Sure, it's an open back amp and not exactly a "Steel amp" but it worked just fine for me. Of course now I've got 2 SWR heads so I don't really need it, but you could use it in a pinch for low volume stuff.
