Fender Dual Professional From Sonny Miller

Well I received this amp I bought from Sonny Miller, a true gentleman. Sonny sold the amp because it is too heavy for him to manage, and I can now understand that.
Sonny packaging was the best I have ever recieved. This amp is immaculate, serial #0054. The amp is a feast for the eyes and ears.
Tube reverb(1963 circuit) and tremelo as good as my Bandmaster's (the holy grail by which I judge others). This amp was to replace my 1971 Twin Reverb that I have regreted selling for years. I believe the tone far surpases that amp. Warm and clean. I replaced the Celestion vintage 30's with a pair of JBL D-130F orange frame speakers that I had in my twin.
One question I have is concerning power tube replacement. Does this amp require re-bias, or is it fixed?
Again, I would like to thank Sonny. At 70 still out making good music. This man is incredible.

The amp must be rebiased for power tube change out. It has an adjustable bias. I had one and am very familiar with the amp. The factory recommended bias voltage in the schematic is mighty cold! I would get a set of JJ Telsa tubes and run it around 32 to 35ma per tube. I tried EV speakers in mine and went back to teh Celsetions! I found them to be a nice, warm sound! The EV were Force 12's voiced a little warmer than even my old JBL D-130F speakers.

Thanks Ken. I believe this still has the original Fender tubes. I am unsure of the year, but it is serial number 0054. The Celestion speakers were nice. I have those in a Gibson Goldtone and they sound great. I am trying out the JBL's, which have that classic sound but the verdict is not in yet.
I am a big fan of EVM 12L's, but the weight of those along with the amp weight would make it unmanagable for me.
What tube do you recomned for the 6v6 reverb tube ?

A JJ tube would be best.

I tried the clone of the EVM12L (by Eminence, Delta Pro) but the frames are a bit too big around and will not fit in the amp! I used the EV Force 12's, just barely fit! Then I went to the Celstions after all that.

Hey Lefty,

Try replacing just one of the Celestions with the JBL. I bet you'll like it better than either just the Celestions or the JBLs.
