I noticed my E9 sounded brighter than normal to me. I play a house gig.Thought maybe it was just my ears. But then I went to C6th and it was basser than usual.I checked a few things. Like for instance.Placed the switch in the middle position. This would normally make both necks brighter. However now the E9 sounds super bright and the C6th really dark.So the problem is in the switch. All the wires look good.Solder joints look good. But I am blind.Tried contact cleaner. Is there anything to do besides replace the bank switch??? Thanks......bb

Thanks for the E-mails. Maybe I should have wrote neck-selector switch. And yes I always play with the tone pot in the bypass mode.

I've tried banging on it.That didn't help either.Maybe I need a bigger hammer..

Bobby, I changed out the pickups in my D10 LeGrandeII last week and took it out play. All night I felt underpowered and extremely ice pick bright. (Bad night!) Not wishing to give in I took it on Sunday night and found that I was getting some volume out of the neck not switched on and more volume on the other. I wound up taking the control panel off and found that solder had run down and barely making contact with the next terminal. You might check to make sure you don't have too much solder puddled on a terminal and contacting another one.

Thanks Jerry.I'm not getting any volume from the neck that's switched off.All solder points look good to my eyes. I guess it's just a switch gone bad.Still open to ideas. And thanks as always.....bb

Bobby, you might put a jumper wire across the switch and see if the volume comes up. That might further pinpoint the switch. I suppose the switch terminals could be dirty like a jack or pot gets. If you do zero in on the switch then you might try some pot cleaner in it. You might go ahead and clean the output jack on the guitar as well.

Thanks Jerry.I've tried everything,it's still a little to bright on the E9 and too dark on the C6th.It's kinda a Ralph Mooney,Curly Chalker combo + I know have a Matchbro effect with the switch in the middle. How cool is that??
