The POD XT is being used by steelers. Do a search and you will find several threads about it.
As far as "programming" it's one of the easiest units I've found. You can do it on the unit or you can do it froma PC.
My programs are listed on my web site and can be downloaded to you PC and then loaded on the POD XT via the Line 6 Edit program. You can also backup your POD XT's programs to your PC.

Mike, once you learn how to do the things you want with the POD XT, it is very easy to use. But like all multi-effects and modeling units, you have to wade through a lot of instructions to figure out how to make it do the few things you want. The problem is that it does so many things, most of which you don't want, that it just takes some reading and note taking and experimenting to get familiar with it. For example, to just use the reverb or delay, with no amp or speaker models, you have to set up a channel with "no amp" and choose one of the 15 types of reverb available. Then the reverb knob works just like the reverb knob on an amp. |

Hi Mike, a good way to look at it is if you are really savy with effects the pod will probably be easy but if you aren't it will be hard.
The level for difficulty is very relative lets say for me I already know how to play "My Funny Valentine" and I'm getting ready to help you learn it and since I've been playing it for 20 yrs I am real comfy with it. The first thing you ask is it going to be hard to learn and I say heck no it's easy.
Well to tell you the truth it will not be easy for you to learn the song but after you do you will say man that's an easy song.
So it's just all in the way you look at it. I hope this makes sense to you. I'll bet with a little reading and work you could learn the Pod XT just fine. If you get one and need any help just email me and I'll do my best to help you :-)
