I just did my first and it is a winner! I had checked the schematics and thought it was a different chip than the Profex 2! I just got a unit in from Dan Cormier and happened to see the chip was the same.
I just did the swap and tossed the battery, all is well!!

Ken, does this mean you can mod our old Profexs' to be battery-less?? If so, how much?? How 'bout the Burr-Brown chip mod too??

Same price as a Profex 2, $35.00 and shipping back to you.

Not sure about the Burr Brown mod. I see a lot of the same audio IC chips as a Profex 2 in there. I will take a look at the schematic and see why I can find out.
