I am mainly playing at home with a headphone. The headphone seems to hide some missteps. When I play through the amplifier without headphones I hear several blocking and other weaknesses that I don't catch when playing through the NV112 headphone jack. How come I hear the deficiencies live but the headphones seem to hide?

Thank you;

Sherman

That is the reverse of what I notice with headphones on a mixer board. I have never used the headphone jack on the NV112. The "pick clicks" and "bar scrapes" you hear are usually associated with a higher frequency response. If you hear too much of this noise, you could try turning down the presence and treble on the amp.
If you are listening to a very high sound level through the headphones, you may not hear some of the quieter sounds that are present. The human ear responds to sound pressure changes on a log scale (sort of a built in automatic volume control).

I sympathize with you. I've been playing
lap steel for around four years,mostly
in my computer room with headphones.
Without headphones I've always been
dissapointed until recently. I hate to
bring up a specific amp ( I get the impression people think I'm a salesman).
Look at my article in the no-peddlars
section under gibson ga5 les paul jr..
I got around fifty responses, some went
bananas about the price. Anyway, I got the amp a few weeks ago and haven't used
my headphones since. From what I've read
this won't solve your problem if your
playing a steel guitar but I feel there is
a solution out there somewhere.
