Just wondered if anyone could tell me the ohms measurement of the single coil pickups
from a 1975 Marlen D-10. I have a pair that
were used about nine years and used very little, and they are laying in a dresser drawer. What would they be worth? i would like to sell them so i can use that space for something else. TJH

Well every Marlen I've had here(probably 10 of them); were all from the 70's and I always measured the Ohms of the pickups just to make sure they were in the ballpark. I'm sorry I don't remember exactly; but if I remember enough; they all seem to meausure between 18,000-20,000 and that to me is GOOD...
The Marlen pickup always seemed extremly good to my ear and 50 bucks a piece seems reasonable in my opinion; if one can figure how to mount it in their steel guitar they might want to put in it.
We put a Marlen pickup and a Emmons pickup and a Sho-bud pickup in a triple neck non-pedal steel that Big Jim Murphy had; and he always bragged on the neck with the marlen pickup as being the sweetest sounding one(god rest his soul).

one unique thing I found with the Marlen pickup was the magnets were reverse polarity every other string

Wow Jim; I never knew that. Learn something new everyday. No wonder the Marlen pickup always responded so well and sounded so good. Leonard Stadler made all his pickups for the Marlen's and he was always a step beyond in ideas/design(God rest his soul).
