Have anybody done any comparison tests with these two boxes? I really need a direct recording pre-amp/FX gizmo since most of my session work these days is done in personal studios where micing an amp properly is almost impossible.
I played briefly through the GS-10 at a session last night and it was kinda cool. It had a couple features that the Pod doesnt have. (built in speakers, bass models etc.)
I'm wondering which of the two would be better through an amp for live gigs also?

I love my PODxt.
Check out my webpage and listen to the mp3s that are there.
All were recorded using my Dell computer and the PODxt direct with a USB cable
The PODxt is great for it's sound quality BUT also consider the data back up and editing capability using your computer. It is like nothing I have ever seen..
Good luck.

Tim...your stuff sounds really great! Thanks.
I know the PODxt is kind've becoming the standard. I was just curious if anyone has A/B'd it with the Roland? After noodling with one the other night, I was surprized how quickly I got a sound that worked, but honestly I really didnt have my totally objective ears on at that point. I like the fact that the GS-10 can be used for bass and has an XLR input for a mic. That to me says that theyre expecting it to handle high headroon hi/fi applications besides just guitar stuff. I'm just wondering how the amp models compare. |

I just got my GS-10 and I'm a beginner at Steel but so far I'm impressed with it. I have a Flextone II HD which has a Pod 2.0 built in and I would say the computer interfaces are about the same.
The little speakers in the GS-10 also can handle the lows on the c6th at mid vol.
If you have read some of my posts about EQ you know that I am trying to figure out how to handle that.

Any update on the GS-10 vs the POD? I too was looking at the additional features but more specific for steel. |
