Is anyone familiar with the Line 6 amplifier. Especially the 110, Spider II series. I looked at one in a pawn shop recently and have been thinking about it. Looks like it has some effects gadgets built in.
Thanks,
Walter

I've been using a Flextone XL since 2000 and love it to death. Not for purists, but I use it for guitar and fiddle and get all the sounds I need. Wouldn't recommend it for steel, though. Not enough headroom and I don't know if you can find a good steel tone, although I haven't really tried, having a Webb and not needing it for steel.

Hey Walter,
I recently bought a Line 6 SpyderII 210.
I usually use a 73Twin ( 2x12 one JBL one EV) -I play an S10.
I used the Line 6 on some gigs last week and it was very good on the mids and high end. The bottom end is nowehre near the Twin- I play Rock and Roll, so the utility of the line 6 is welcome-the echo and reverb are very nice. i have the "shortboard" which gives 64 presets.
To me this is a good way to manage effects.
Usually, when I've used stomp boxes, they are difficult to deal with.
I have to bribe people to lug the twin, it's so heavy.
The line 6 ain't no Twin, but it does get the job done and I can carry it easily.
Everything is a compormise, right?

I think you'd be disappointed in the Spider for PSG. If you were looking at Line 6 amps I would go with the Vetta, it has the newer PODxt technology.

Thanks for the information. I have several steel amps and don't need another one but I happened to spy this one and thought I might try it out on my steel or electric guitar. Don't think I will buy it now after what you all have said.
Thanks a lot.
God Bless,
Walter
