Using A Steel Driver When Recording

I use a Steel Driver when playing and have used it when recording in a studio as well. I would like some inout from you guys that record if you use the same or if it is better to leave it out during recording. The sound in the control room was brighter and I am fairly new at any kind of recording. I would appreciate any advice concerning this subject.
