I have a Goodrich L10k volume pedal that I took the back cover off the 10k pot and cleaned it with a cleaner from Radio Shack and I reinstalled it worked fine for a little bit but the scratchy noise came back, I checked the 9v battery and replaced it still have noise, I noticed an op-amp inside number MC33171P could this be causing my noise problem? and where can I get a replacement? And what other op-amps will work with this pedal? steveb318@aol.com

....more than likely you could clean the 10k pot again, and the scratchy sound will stop, for a while. Usually, when a pot becomes noisy you may as well replace it.

I had one and had the very same problem as you describe. If replacing the 10K pot won't cure the problem, I think Goodrich will rebuild it for you if you send it back to them. Or you can convert it to the 500K type by removing the electronics and battery and wire it just like a Goodrich 120. After a couple of rebuilds on 2 different electronically enhanced Goodrich pedals (The L6 and L10), I finally just converted to 500K passive pedals. Now I wouldn't use anything else.

The opamp in the Goodrich L10k and H10K pedals is fairly standard, except that it was chosen because it operates at a very low current (< 200uA) and with a single supply (i.e. 9v battery). Other opamps are pin compatible in that appplication, but you might not get the same battery life.
