| Has anyone used the 808S 8-Channel Stereo Powered Mixer and if so are they big enought to handle a 150 person club? |

| Lyle, I believe that's what we use. It's only 200w (I think), but if you have good speakers, and get them up off the floor, it'll do fine. (Of course, we use it for vocals only.) |

That is a powerful piece. You could even mix instruments in there along with the vocals. We've used one for crowds that size and we even had kick and snare and bass mixed in with the vocals. It's 450watts peak into 4 ohms per channel. 340watts per channel continuous into 4 ohms. That's really a decent amount of power for only 150 people. Those are my favorite all-in-one powered portable mixers.

| We have used one for weekend warrior duty many times the last few years. A real work-horse, very reliable. Note that each of the power amps will produce 500 (or is it 600?) watts with a 2 ohm load, so you can run four 8-ohm monitor cabs and four 8-ohm main cabs, if needed. |

I just sold an 808S, but if it weren't for needing more inputs and mixes, I'd have kept it. Great unit. I used it regularly for crowds up to around 300 with it being the only power source for mains (JBL MR925's with one powered JBL Eon sub). Of course, you could use the additional line outs for additional power amps/speakers if needed.
Very clean unit and easy to use. |

| The Mackie 808 mixer/amps are a godsend. I remember the days when we used to have to schlep power amp, mixer, eq's, effects racks, monitor power amp, etc, etc, as well as wiring it all together. The Mackie has all of this in one simple easy to operate unit, that you can easily carry in one hand. My six piece weekend band has used ours for four years now and never had a bit of trouble. 150 capacity club is a piece of cake for the 808. |

That's what our band uses. We set up four vocal mics, a mic in front of the kick drum, a mic on a boom over the drums, and two more mics on short floor stands, on either side of the band stand. We don't mic every instrument, but this gets a little of everything out to the mains.
Every year we play a large venue for about 1,500 people and it works fine. We are using JBL speakers.
