I have the Lexicon model 200. I don't know if they make this model anymore but I sure like mine. You can have 2 two effects plus compression at the same time. It also has tap tempo. Very user friendly. I'm sure it was under $300. Maybe you can find one on e-bay.

The MPX-100 is real cheap these days, and it sounds great. It's no longer being made. I have two of them! One recently sold here on the Forum for $110. I love the sync-to-MIDI feature and tap tempo.

I'll chime in and seriously suggest the relatively new TC Electronic M-300. Two linkable sections dedicated to just delay and 'verb, tap tempo, and sounds wonderful. I end up using one on every track I mix, often on vocals and steel. Oh, yeah, it's cheap!

| It's almost ridiculous, how cheap some of this stuff has gotten. All these units are great, as is the Profex, and all can be had for way less than 300.00! My first delay was a rack-mount Ibanez, bought it abouth 1983, and it cost around 400.00, and wouldn't do squat, even compared to the DD-5 and RV-3 I use now. I'd put the RV-3 right up there with anything, it's quick, easy to use, fits in your seat... |

| The LXP-1 is quite hip indeed. Great, vibey unit. Can be modded as well. Not in production, but can be gotten(ebay). I am very happy with it. |

| I need delay, flange(phase-shifter effect),pitch(chorus effect) for steel guitar. I get these with my profex but don't like having to step thru the presets, even though I have them all in a row. |

John - I have my MPX-100 programmed with 3 different reverbs, and use whichever sounds best for a particular venue. I also have a reverb/flange combination, that works well on slow songs. The flange is very subtle, and sounds much like a weak chorus. I also have a reverb/chorus combination. I don't use that one very often. I have never found a reverb/delay combination that suits me. I prefer to use one repeat, and that isn't available with the reverb/delay combinations. I ended up adding an inexpensive unit to my rack for delay only. If you aren't interested in reverb/delay combinations and want delay only, the MPX-100 has lots of those. It will even emulate tape echo, as opposed to digital delay. The echo repeats are a bit softer than the digital delay repeats.
