dual amp connect - howto?

Post by Terry Srader »

what is the best way to connect dual amps.

is it best to plug both amps into my GR pedal or to plug each amp into each other and only one cable to the GR?

The easiest way is to come out of the volume pedal, using the 2 outs. Go straight to each amp. The technical name for this setup is dual mono. I use it myself. One amp on each side.

Hope this helps!

I run 2 cables from my volume pedal 1 to each amp. if you volume pedal doesn't have 2 outs on it radio Shack has an adapter that
plugs in to your 1 output and gives you two outputs I used that before I had a pedal with 2 outs and it worked good.

Ideally also you should have both amps plugged to the same multi plug buss bar to prevent ground loops.

If you get ground buzz in your hook-up, try a ground lift plug on one amp. Make sure you do plug both of them in on the same circut.

It's a good idea to use a Ground-lift plug on the A/C strip at the wall-socket also, and don't Cross X A/C cords either. It's quietist with only (2)-wires all the way around on all components! Just my opinion, from past experience! Image
