In replacing the pots for tone and volume on an older six string electric, can you use the off the wall pots from Radio Shack or does the volume pot have to be different from the tone pot?
Guess what I am asking in a long way is, are there specific pots designed for tone and for volume.
Thanks

I wouldn't use Radio Shack pots. Most music stores of any size will have replacement pots. They should be audio taper, 250K for single coils, or 500K for humbuckers.
