I was laying down some tracks today in the studio and all of a sudden, the pitch began to move upward! It sounded like the mod wheel was being moved, but it wasn't. I cut off the keyboard for a few minutes and powered it up and it was still off. I have a new Kurzweil ME1 module and I am wondering if the problem is with it or the keyboard?
ANy suggestions? |

You will need to find out what is controlling the pitch (pitch wheel, mod wheel, etc.).
The controller keyboard will likely have the center-return wheel set for pitch, by default. A data slider may also be set for this.
Then, look into the module and see what is set to RECIEVE pitch information. Change the settings that you don't want controlling pitchj.

| Peavey DPM 3 SE. This problem has now happened with 2 different modules, so I am assuming it is the keyboard. |

It does sound as if the controller keyboard might be the culprit. I had a mod wheel pot go bad several months ago, but it was very subtle and it was just a slight tuning thing every now and then. I replaced the pot and voila...fixed. Hopefully you problem will be just as easy.

| Yea, try setting the center-return Pitch wheel to OFF. Then see if the problem stops. If so, the pot of that wheel will need repair. |

I started thinking about the "Mod-wheel pot".
I know if I get a little scratching in my steel volume pedal, I just work it up and down about 100 times, and it improves the function. I tried this today on my keyboard mod-wheel and what do you know....the pitch was stable all day! Thanks guys! Maybe this solved my problem. |
