This CD input feature -
- Is it an either/or situation, or can you mix your instrument with the CD input? Play both at the same time?
- Is the CD input level line-in?
- Is there any 112 level control on the CD input?
- Does it go through the 112's preamp and equalization controls?
- Strictly controlled by the master volume?
Thanks, Bob
p.s., anybody figure out whether there's a black widow speaker option? |

Hello Bob,
I welcome questions about any piece of Peavey gear. We even have a North American toll free consumer line that can be reached by calling 1-877-732-8391.
The Nashville 112 was designed to fill the void for a product that a steel guitarist could use for private rehearsals. The CD input is in the signal chain "before" the master gain control but after the MAIN XLR output(so that the main house sound person can get a constant signal from the amp). There is no independent input level control for the CD input as most all portable CD players have an output level control. By balancing the incoming CD player level with the master level, a perfect balance can be obtained between the guitar signal and CD signal through your headphones. By the way, when using headphones the internal speaker is defeated.
The nominal CD input is 0.7 volts RMS. The CD signal is POST EQ, so it will be "colored" by the Nashville 112 equalization circuit.
I've received numerous inquiries about a Black Widow speaker option. At this time, we have not marketed this product with the option of a Peavey Black Widow, but a 4 ohm BW speaker should allow the amp to maintain the 80 watts of output. However, a BW would add about 5-6 lbs. to the weight of the amp.
I've used the Nashville 112 on small gigs where high power was not needed and it was great. At 42.5lbs., I'd take two of them!

Mike, your thorough answer is very much appreciated.
I assume I could not only get a guitar + CD signal to the headphones, but also to the speaker if I chose; e.g., rhythm tracks plus steel in a one-man show.
Thanks also for the comment on the BW speaker, and your ongoing attention to all our question. Gratefully,
Bob

Yes, when you insert your 1/4" headphone plug, it mutes the speaker. So, if you wish to rehearse using the CD input, you can either use headphones or play live.
I'll have plenty of these amps in St.Louis next year. |

John, I can't answer that as the varying exchange rate determines Canadian pricing. Check with your Canadian dealer here;
