Being a tube "novice", I was wondering if a 6L6GC tube and a GT6L6 tube are relatively the same? Are they interchangable? Thanks.

I think the GT is branding ("Groove Tube"). They have the same pin configuration, I'm sure. If you're replacing output tubes, you'll get the best sound (and longest tube life) with matched pairs of tubes.

I change my tubes every 30 years, whether they need it or not.

b0b, I read years ago that Larry Carlton changed his tubes after every gig! now thats a set of ears!....PS thanks for the pen....jim
