Anyone have a schematic of a simple tremolo? Looking for a project and that one seemed to jump at me.
Thanks,
Ricky

Copy the one out of a "Fender" amp.
Or I can email you a schematic of one.

Go for an early sixties all tube Fender tremolo (in tbrown and blond amps only). It is the on eof the best tremolo circuits I have ever heard. I have a 1962 Vibrasonic with it in there and it is awesome! |

I agree with Ken; if you use a Fender tube tremolo circuit, use the good one from the brown/blonde amps. The tremolo in the blackface and silverface amps that uses the neon lamp and photoresistor is not particularly good, and is not worth the trouble to recreate IMO.
That being said, I don't think there is any big advantage in using tubes for a tremolo effect, when a solid-state circuit is so much cheaper and easier. You could probably find several circuits on the web to try out. Here's one:

Also check out www.geofex.com for lots of info about constructing effects pedals. |

If you are building into an existing tube amp, the various Fender versions of tremelo are great. But if you want a stand alone stomp box tremelo, I don't know that they are good choices. You might want to pose your question at the Ampage board, on the "effects" page, if nobody here has the circuit you need. Should be some IC based low frequency oscillator coupled to a variable gain amplifier circuits that people over there are familiar with...Jerry |
