I have been playing a lot of bass gigs lately. I have been using the Peavey TMAX rack mount 500W amplifer which I really like.

I was given the cabinet from a Peavey bass amp combo TNT 115. The amp and speaker are gone so I was going to install a 15" speaker in the cabinet and use it with the TMAX. I can't find a 15" speaker that will fit. Both JBL and Peavey Black Widow 15" speakers require a 14" cutout. The cutout on this cabinet is 13-13/16". Was a Scorpion used in that model possibly having a smaller cutout? Does anybody know what speaker was supplied in the TNT 115?

Regards,
Terry

My guess is that it came equipped with a Peavey Sheffield speaker, but could have possibly been a Scorpion. What's the serial number of the amp and I can tell you what it was.

Terry, that serial number is way before computers were even around and would not be on file. The number indicates that it is a 1977 model. If my guess is correct, it probably came with an Eminence speaker at that time.

I checked out the specs for all Eminence 15" speakers and their cutout is 14". I can't find any data in Sheffield speakers. I'm not sure where I can find a 15" speaker with a frame like I need.

Thanks Mike for you help. I appreciate you being on the forum.
