Does the Peavey/Lemay modification effect the the pre-amp/EQ or the power amp part of the sound? In other words would the mod have an effect on the sound if you were using an effects unit such as Profex or tubefex? |

The mod is to the preamp only and does not affect the power amp side.

The Peavey modification kits for the Nashville 400, Session 400 Limited, Session 500 and Vegas 400 amplifiers effect the equalization circuit, which is in the preamp.
Yes, it would affect the sound of a Profex II if used before the input of the amp or when used in the pre amp out/power amp in loop. When the output of a Profex II is plugged directly into the power amp input jack on the amp, the eq circuit of the amp would not effect the external preamp(Profex II). |
