If the time will be there to change gear, I will buy the new Line 6 Pod XT.
It's the best pre-amp and effectprocessor (with 35 stompboxes build in) that I heard for the money. Also a very good built in tuner, usb port for conversation with computers and memory etc, and clean sounds, wow!!!!
they go for about $500, but worth every penny!!
I think they will become the new standard after the profex-erea.

Hi Johann
long time ago......
did you tried one. I play around with the V-Amp from behringer, and except the
@#+"%รง noise I like the sound..., but on the bandstand.... to thine and shrill sounding! Do you think the XP is better???
Happy New Year

Hey Joey,
Yep, I'm really starting to get the sounds I like dialed in, for live and the studio. If you like gear, and getting your gear smaller and more flexible, it's a great option!
Thanks,
Dave |

I haven't used the POD XT but I do use the POD 2.0 with the Les Paul and Lap Steel. It makes both really come alive.

Wow! I'm kinda surprised. I thought my Pod was awful for steel and for guitar.I seldom use effects(except reverb and maybe delay), and I thought the clean sounds were really poor. Sterile sounding. It seemed to me to be designed for people who used it more for distortion and effects I traded it away for a DRRI. I'll have to try the XT and see if they're better. I have been sticking to my DR.Z Prescription, but would love to have a small device for recording, etc. |

John,
I have seen others comment that they liked the Pod 2.0 and 2.2 and 2.3 for steel, but they just didn't work for me. The XT really is a leap forward. As with all units, you have to work to get the right settings. I have found the best amp model for me is the Jazz Clean amp (the Twin Reverb model still has too much drive for the really clean stuff).
Try one out,

Dave, I'm gonna have to try this new one out. I was so disappointed in the POD 2.0. |
