I'd read something in years past that Paul F. Jr. had a Mesa Boogie preamp as part of his standard package. It was stated that it's a preamp no longer produced by Mesa, but the writer didn't offer/didn't know any details. Anyone know?

Paul uses the Messa, studio pre-amp. Its no longer produced but there are lots available on the second hand market, usually around $2-300 dollars. They are very reliable and have a great tone.

I saw one on Ebay today for $250. Is that a good price & are they dependable? Thanks!

I've used one for standard guitar.
Bought new in 1994, about $900 CDN.

Used it steady for 5 years, never a problem.
I really like it's Spring Reverb, sounds similar to an old Twin.

Really warm overdrive too. I sold it in a foolish-moment. Wish I had it now.

PS I still have your Nash 400, PeeWee, although I mostly use an Evans AE100 now.

Just a weight factor...
