Topic: Rack Mixer? |

I'd like to have a mixer that could fit in one rack space. It would need to handle 4 stereo channels from guitar preamps, synths, etc. and output to a stereo power amp. All jacks would be 1/4". No tone controls are necessary, just volume and trim pots would do the trick.
Anyone know of such a device? I have a little Beringer mixer in my music room that would work, but it's not really rackable. Oddly enough, it's called "Eurorack MX 602A".

PV has one called "16 LM Line Mixer", it has 8 stereo line inputs and a stereo out with a master out volume. The Monitor mag. shows the price at $149.99.

bOb,
I currently use the Peavey single space rack mixer for mixing the outputs of my Profex II (steel) and Digitech RP-1 (guitar)which I kinda try to play at the same time. The mixer outputs go straight to a DPC-750. It works out great, real quiet and all I have to do is turn my guitar voulme knob up when I want to switch, no A-B pedal to mess with! |

Hey b0b,
kinda off-topic, but what do you think about that Behringer? I was thinking about getting the 802A. They're on sale now over here for a ridiculous price... very tempting.

I use a Peavey VALVEX mixer.
+ Single Space
+ 6 channel
+ Gain control & pan knob for each channel
+ Master gain & master pan control
+ mute button for each channel
+ each channel has a 12AX7 T U B E !!
This is a sweet sounding mixer....it sounds so good that when I go out to play steel and nothing else...I still run through it.
very crisp and very warm
Cost me about $100 bucks....
If you can find one -- GET IT!!

I believe so....each channel has a Pan to "L" and "R"...
It is one of the coolest pieces of equipment I have ever owned.. If you can track one down you will never get rid of it. |

What I mean is, are there six inputs or twelve (six stereo pairs). Also, are the ins and outs all 1/4"?
It does sound like a cool unit. I'm always nervous with solid state audio - the use of cheap op-amps can degrade the signal quite a bit. I like the idea of using 12AX7 tubes instead.

I just checked it out...
It has 6 hi Z inputs..I guess that would make it six channel mono or 3 channel stereo.
You can assign each channel to L or R by using the pan knob on each channel.
Like I said before...one COOL piece..
