Played through both my Standel 80 L-15, and my Fender Twin Reverb last night.
Just pluged my Mullen into a Hilton pedal and into both amps. No effects, just a little reverb on the twin. Incredible sound.

I just play through my Standel for most gigs. It's a 1970 Custom XV and I've still never had the volume over 3 -- even with a guitar player using a Tele and a Twin.
Works for me.
I have a MosValve 500 that will blow the back end off a brick gymnasium, but rarely use it anymore.

I cast my vote for quality as opposed to quantity of sound. It's sure helped my playing.

I've used an Evans with either a Standel, Fender or Ampeg VT-22. What I like is the combination of the "snap" of transistors and the "sag" of tubes. I also like mismatched speakers. Black Widow 1501 with Altec, EV or JBLs. |
