Have I got a sad story for you all...

Last weekend I removed the old worn pot from my Goodrich pedal, intending to replace it. I did this before getting a replacement because I'm the tinkering sort and I like taking things apart.

Years of tinkering experience told me to make a drawing of how the string and wires were connected to the pot, but in a moment of absent mindedness I made this drawing on the instruction sheet for a toilet bowl filler replacement kit.

Well, I fixed up the toilet later that weekend and in my pride of a job well done threw out the volume pedal drawings along with the parts from my old toilet bowl.

So what I'm wondering is, would some kind soul with a goodrich 10k pedal be willing to snap a photo of the innards and post it here? I tried looking at the instructions on steelguitarinfo.com but they don't help.

Thanks!
- Handy Andy

How old is that pot? In a 10k, those things never wear out. I've replaced a gazillion pots in every pedal made....except a 10k. Yours is the first I've heard of. Anyway, looking at the top of the pot from right to left, wire it in, out, ground. The string? It's like one of those kids' puzzles, once you see it, it's so simple that you want to slap yourself. So get after it......piece 'o' cake!

I believe the Carter site has some funky photos, courtesy of Jeff Newman, if I'm not mistaken, of a pot job on a standard 120. If that applies.
Don't underestimate the importance, though, of a good flushing toilet.

I think the bottle of water that spilled in the equipment bag may have hastened the demise of the pot.

Thanks for the wiring tips, that's actually the hardest part. I think I can figure out the string business.

If I get it right, I'll post the picture here for all to see.

No, but I need to install one of those toilet thingies, too, and I'll send you that box when I'm finished.
