bOb:
I believe you made a comment awhile back that
10 string pickups sounded better than 12 string pickups. What is the reason for the
10 string pickup sounding different than the 12 string version?

Inquiring minds want to know!

I don't know the reason, I just know that they do sound better to my ears. They sound "tighter", and they "cut through the mix" better. The difference is subtle, but it's there.

They can't be exactly the same, you know. It takes more wire to get the same number of windings. If you try to get exactly the same impedence, you'll have fewer windings on the 12 string.

Bill Lawrence can answer this better than I can. Maybe he'll say I'm all wet!

Hi bOb:
Thanks for replying. I will ask Bill Lawrence
about the sonic diferences between a 10 string & 12 string pickup. I have been using the Lawrence 912 as of late and I am pleased with response.
