I just purchased a new Nash 1000 and have been playing a 66 FTR for years...I am blown away at the range of this new amp. Question one is anybody got any setting recommendations for this amp, secondly what should the chain of connections be? Since this amp has an fx in pre eq and a fx post eq, how should i run my stuff....i usually have put my Goodrich and effects before the volume pedal and then to the amp....my volume pedal has one in and two outs....i am using a deltafex fx for my delay mainly and a chromatic tuner......any suggestions for the chain of hookups to maximize the steel and amp?

Hello Craig,
Thank you very much for your supportive comments and for your purchase of the Nashville 1000. I hope that you received an operating guide with your amp as there are suggested settings for a fiddle, C6th and E9th tunings that can be used with this amp.
If you do not have a manual, here is the link from the Peavey website so that you can download it; http://www.peavey.com/support/searchmanuals/list/nash1000.cfm
I just recently submitted an article to be published in the Ozark Mountain Steel Guitar Associations newsletter that should be out shortly. It is about our PRE EQ PATCH or better known as the volume pedal patch. I will e-mail this article to you. The POST EQ PATCH is designed to be used to patch in your favorite low level effects units. In other words, "post" means that the insert point is "after" the equalization circuit, so that the effect is "colored" by the equalization circuit.
My "THE PRE EQ PATCH", WHY IS IT CALLED THE PEDAL PATCH article will be posted on the new Peavey steel guitar section soon.
If you wish to contact me here at the factory, I can be reached by calling 1-877-732-8391, which is toll free.

Mike:
Where should I plug in a multi-effects unit such as a Boss VF-1? In the post-EQ loop, or the preamp/power amp loop on the back of the 1000? Is it considered a high-level or low-level unit? |

Randy, you'll have to look at the Boss specifications to determine if it is line or low level. I did a search on the ROLAND website and they do mention this product, but there is no owner's manual with specs.
Please contact me here at the factory if you wish to discuss this further and we'll figure out the best way to patch the processor with the 1000.

Mike:
Thanks very much. I've looked and looked (on the internet) and can't find any specs either. I plan to get one of these units very soon and will give you a call. Thanks again for your help! |
