Carter s10 3 x 5 without bct...Playing through either my nashville 400 without mod and or my Evans 500fet custom LV, MY PROBLEM is highs are too tinny and brilliant like playing on a tin roof...the mids are just about there and the bass is great on either amp, especially the Evans...suggestions are welcome...right now I still got stock George L E66...my main effect unit is a Peavey AdVerb II,...maybe it's the old ear or the attack of the old clumsy pickin finger...
[This message was edited by Dennis Yager on 12 April 2002 at 07:22 PM.]

Try moving the pickup further away from the strings before you go spending any money. I think that pickup should be between one and three thicknesses of a quarter from the strings.

My new Carter S-10 has the GL10-1 according to John Fabian, and has a nice wide range of
lows, mids, highs. And the highs aren't shrilly. Personally i always liked the sound
of the single coils in my Emmons P/P, but i
also like the Carter sound very much. Thanks
for providing some really interesting posts
about the technucal aspects of pedal steel.
