Does "Minimum total impedance is 4 ohms" per
channel as stated in the DPC 750 owner's
manual mean I can or cannot use two 4 ohm speakers per channel? |

| Can not. Two 4 ohm speakers in the same channel would give 2 ohms total, assuming they are wired in parallel. If you can put them in the same cabinet and wire them in series you could do that, as you would then have 8 ohms total. |

I have a DPC 1000. I'm using two,12",4 ohm, "Black Widows"in seperate cabinets,& the sound is wonderul!!

Please let me clarify:
The left channel of the DPC 750 has 2 1/4
inch speaker outputs,as does the right chan
nel. I have no idea whether they are in series, parallel or even connected for that matter. What I would like to know is, if I plug a 4 ohm speaker into each of the output
jacks in each channel am I operating outside the recommended parameters of the DPC 750 and
if so, what good is the second output?

RR. If you plug a 4ohm speaker into each output you now have two speakers parallel. 2-4' = 2ohms. You could however plug an 8ohm speaker in each output and then you would have 2-8's which equals 4ohms. That's why the other output. This is per channel. Some amps it's safe to go down to 2ohms and some aren't. I would say the jacks on the amp are in parallel. You would have to wire them in series your self. In that case 2-4's wired in series gives you 8ohms which is probably safe for your amp but it also cuts your power. I would just put a 4ohm speaker on each channel and run with it, especially on a DPC 750. That should be more than a guy needs.

| According to the Peavey DPC750 manual, the "minimum total impedence" is 4 ohms per side. Going by that if you put two 4 ohm speakers in parallel (one into each jack for say side A) you would have 2 ohms and that is out of range. |
