Just read Deans post about in ears.
I am there right now.
I am tired of trying to compete with stage levels and struggling to hear pitch all night.
I am tired of preaching about stage volumes and regenerated audio in the mix.
The stage we play on most of the time is of poor design, and we are all crammed together like sardines.
Any way I ended up stage right next to the bass player. The other end has the DJ booth with a wall, so it is not very ideal either.
I am looking for an in ear or even a half closed headphone monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions of half closed type. My right ear is to the house and I don't think I want both ears covered.
The left is the problem with kick drum monitor and bass rig.
Thanks all

Eddie,
It seems to me if you use a rig like mine, but only use one of the ear buds - you'll get the effect you're looking for. That would let one ear hear the stage/crowd and the other the mix. I prefer using both ears. It gives you a "studio" type sound with no stage distractions.
