Peavy 1501 basket on a 1502 speaker?

Post by RR Womack Jr »

I have a Peavy 1502-4 speaker that needs a
new basket. If I replace it's basket with
a 1501 basket do I now have a 1501 speaker
and is this possible?

Buddy, the speaker number designates the type of speaker you have, (i.e. 1502-4 or 1501-4 SB) The Black Widow magnet has nothing to do with it. The -4 after the number is the "ohms" of the speaker.

I remember Mike Brown commenting that the older BW's and the newer shallow basket model magnets were not interchangeable.

The best thing is to call Mike Brown. He can tell you which model you have and if it's compatible.

Buddy I have a complete speaker if you need it. The magnet is from an original BW. It has a 1502 basket on it right now. Good shape.
