Hi All,
last night i tried out 2 effets units as im looking for delay /reverb effects one was an alesis microverb4 and the other was a boss rv-3 i found the micro verb a little confusing and the boss pedal just great , so if the boss pedal is the one to have where should i set it and what is the effects unit that is most popular or suited for the steel guitar...

kindest regards

After having a rack mount delay/reverb for years, I found it a "bother" to carry around. I went with the RV-3 and found I get the same sound without having to carry another LARGE piece of equipment around. I use it with my Evans amp and 75 push/pull Emmons. Works nice. One setting I use is as follows. The first two knobs set around 9 o'clock, the third about 11 or 12 o'clock. Of course this is what I like. Depends on how much Delay you want. Hope this helps.

I also dropped my rackmount gear for an RV-3.
I also recently got a Boss CS-3 compressor/sustainer. Anybody using the CS-3 have any preffered settings?
What are the general rules for using compression?

I just bought an RV-3 and agree it's a great, professional quality pedal, much nicer sound IMHO the BOSS' DD-5. Musician's Friend lists the BOSS RV-3 for $149.99.

Best regards.

I use a Boss DD-5. Put velcro on the pedal and on the amp. Put a AC strip box in the back of the amp, plug the power supply in run the delay thru the effect loop. Nothing to set up always with the amp. Ready to pick.
