Tape Recorder with Speed Control

Back in the early 70's I bought a little tape recorder (Marantz) and it had a speed control nob. This was a blessing to me because It eliminated any tuning adjustments to my steel if I needed to practice a song. It finally bit the dust after years of use and I would be greatful to hear from anyone who uses or knows of this type of product currently on the market.. I have tried to find one but I am not familiar with all the technical jargon when searching for one. Thanks...Rick

You can get a new Marantz from Homespun Tapes. They have 3 different models, but they are kind of spendy.

I recently bought a dual deck Sony and it has a speed control on one of the decks. I got it at Best Buy.

Thank You Guys..... I went to the Homespun sight and found exactly what I needed.... I am so greatful and my birthday is only a few months from now.... Maybe I can get the wife to order it to keep me from hounding her until then.... Thanks again.... Rick

If I were you, I would check out Reed Kotler's digital transcribers. They are specifically made for just this purpose and they have a very good pitch control and replay/looping mechanisms. Best I've seen - bar none. They are listed (~retail price) on Joe Wright's web sight, but you could also check around.

I've got a Marantz. It's been used very little. It's an excellent deck. I just don't need it too often. The thing sells new for over $300.00. I'll let it go for $225.00 plus shipping. I have original box and manuals. E-mail if you're interested: walker.susan@worldnet.att.net
