Low Z output Session 400

Have had intermittant problems with LowZ out put on back of my session 400. It now refuses to give me a signal at all. I like to run direct to the snake and it sure gives the soundman fits. Any suggestions for repair. I sorta like to know the problem before I take it to the repair shop. Beats paying for Phantom repairs.
