Hi everyone. I am considering this combination for my rack. For those who have or have seen these, is there an input anywhere for a CD player? If not, what would be my options?

Hi Allen,
I use a 1500 with a Walker Stero Steel preamp,it has a aug. input with volume adjustment. It's has other features that I find very desireable, also Walker is a good guy to deal with.

I use a Peavey Trantube Fex with a MosValve 500 (older model but same as 1500). The Transtube Fex has a stereo CD input built into it, along with effects loop, 600 Ohm XRL outputs, etc.
I know you haven't been looking at this unit, but it is a combination Preamp/Effects Processor.
The TubeFex (tube model) does not have a "CD" input but you can use the effects loop input for a mono CD input.

Allen...the pre-amp only has one input, but there is an effects loop on the back that has quarter inch phone jacks for both A & B in, and send. Both in in's and send have level controls. I'm no electronics wizzard, maybe someone like Jack Stoner can tell you if the loop can be used for the CD player.

A low level effects loop input should work OK for a CD input, since it has a level control. The only concern would be how the effects loop is wired and whether you can just use the effects loop input by itself and it mixes with the regular guitar signal or it you have to have a complete circuit through the external device.

Thanks, guys.
I talked to Herby today and he thinks something could be done to get the CD in the mix somewhere.
Roger, please bring the stuff to the show on Sunday. I'll have the $$

Call Steve Bishop at Tubeworks/GenzBenz. He's the guy in the know.
