What are the tonal differences between a 1501 and a 1502 Black Widow speaker? Also would be interested to know which one y'all use.
Thanks

Hi Dave, I suppose Mike Brown can give you the tech details on the differences. I have used both, and much prefer the 1501 for steel. It has special design characteristics for steel and has a sweeter, brighter, more open sound than the 1502 to my ear. In my experimentations in my own spkr. cabs, I can honestly say the 1501 has better overall sound than anything else I've tried including the JBL's. IMHO

I think you'll find the 1501-4 is the best speaker for steel. It seems the consincus is leaning that way too. Mike

The Nashville 1000, Session 2000, PX300 all come equipped with the 1501-4ohm BW "shallow basket" speaker. The Nashville 400 featured the 1501-4ohm SB in approximately 1995 until we ceased production of the Nashville 400.
