Awesome! I love Zeppelin!
A friend of mine spent some time in L.A. with Andy Johns, who engineered Zeppelin IV. He claims to have provided the "stash" for the "Black Dog" session. |

Hey John - I know(?) these are not your recordings, but as a fellow engineer:...
How do you figure for the stereo imaging on Page's guitar work? On the acoustic stuff (like SWTH) I guess perhaps there were two mics panned L/R? Still, some slight delay placed on one of them?
On the electric stuff, it sounds like Page has two amps going - each with a different sound. Mic's panned hard L/R with a delay on one?
Thanks for this post - I copped all Pages licks when I was about 14 (or at least tried to!). My playing is still heavily influenced by his early work (LZ I&II).

Is that the original line-up? Is it true they did their first album with a tele?

Boy does this brings back a memory or two.
I was 16 in 1971 and Led Zeppelin was the first rock band my parents let me go see in concert. The Marijuana smoke was so thick you could hardly see the band.
I had a 67 Stratocaster which I unfortunately sold and a 69 Les Paul which I somehow still have today.
