This is hitting the news on the net. Peeved reaction or a joke?

Looks like she took her "Joke Lessons" from John Kerry.

If that was a joke then it's the greatest publicity stunt ever pulled off IMHO.

Faith is rather famous for her "walk offs".

Great actress or sore loser. Hmmm... looks more like the latter to me.
Sure liked her first few albums-- back before she married what's his name.

I guess some people are bit better at winning than they are losing.
Do actually think that about 80% of the losers are not putting on the strained happy face when their rivals names are announced as the winners at these award shows?

I think there's a real pressure on the nominees, with the camera up their behind at that moment. It's real low-ball crap, having the split screen capture the physionomy. It's human nature to have a strange look on your face when millions are staring at you, hoping for a trace of humilation. In that position, you're bound to look a bit odd. That to me can sometimes be mistaken for vanity, jealousy, whatever. I don't generally have any pity for the rich and famous, but at these moments the split camera shots are a bit pathetic.
I think Faith Hill was trying to make a point, but it back-fired. I don't think she has a talent for comedy, but the looks of it.

I think Faith Hill was spoofing Kayne West's recent tantrum on MTV and nobody got it.
Kanye's On-Stage Tantrum

Hip-hop star Kanye West stormed on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards Thursday night, when he missed out on Best Video to Justice Vs. Simian.
The rapper was nominated in three categories -- Best Male, Best Video for "Touch the Sky" and Best Hip-Hop -- at the Copenhagen, Denmark, award, but only took home the latter.
On the red carpet prior to the award, West told MTV, "I should definitely win best hip-hop. I should definitely win that (best video) also."
However, when French DJ Justice went on stage to accept the Best Video trophy for "We Are Your Friends," a furious West joined him.
West shouted, "[Bleep] this! My video cost a million dollars.
"Pamela Anderson was in it, I was jumping across canyons and [bleep]! If I don't win, the awards show loses credibility. Nothing against you (Justice Vs Simian), but hell man."
At the press conference afterward, West was still angry over the award, saying, "I haven't seen (the Justice and Simian video). Possibly it could have been quite good, but no way better than 'Touch The Sky.'
"That is complete [bleep], I paid a million. Obviously it's not all about the money, but the response it got transcended everything, it really made great TV. It took a month to film; I stood on a mountain; I flew a helicopter over Vegas. I did it to be the king of all videos and I wanted to walk home with that award.
"(The reason the other video won) -- That was some spread the love [bleep], 'Oh everyone should have an award.' Please press people print, 'Kanye says [bleep] that!'"
This is the second time West has vented his fury over losing an award -- in 2004 he lost out on the Best New Artist award at the American Music Awards (AMAs) to country singer Gretchen Wilson. The hitmaker said at the time, "I feel I was definitely robbed. I was the best new artist this year."

Do you buy into the spin that it was a joke?Take a look at her eyes, were they laughing? I don't think so. It appears to me that there was fire in those eyes. Nope! no joke there. Regards, Jay Thompson

I'm with Jay. I don't buy that it was a joke.
Further to that, I have to say I'm getting
tired of watching people follow-up rude and obnoxious behaviour by stating "Gee, it was a joke - where's your sense of humor ?"
Sorry, no sale.
After all, jokes are supposed to be funny.
Having said that, where was The Funniest Guy Ever, her husband McGraw, last night ?

I think her EGO got the best of her before she realized and remembered she was on Camera.

I think the poor little mistreated girl is starved for attention and she let her EGO get the best of her before she realized and remembered she was on Camera.

Carrie won American Idol because of her vocal ability. She's had 2 possibly 3# 1's this year! Some are jealous of that success.

I think people get on (and win) "American Idol" mostly because of their youth and sex appeal. The show (and the music business in general, nowadays) is about finding someone pretty they can market (exploit?) to make tons of money.
Middle-aged fat people are never winners. Does anybody really think that none of them have good voices?
Image is everything.

If you want fame nowadays, you have to be in shape. That's just the way it is, unless your a black male rapper. If you don't like it, just be happy singing at the local nightclub. Success these days is about hard work in the gym and discipline in the kitchen. One must weigh out his or her desire to conform to this, or forget it. The music business is more visual than ever, and the average joe public wants to buy into the unattainable; they want their stars to look hot. It's about selling the dream, and a lot of people are buying - even though they'll never be able to attain that kind of perfection. Sometimes it's camera tricks and air-brushing, but in Carrie Underwood's case it's pure physical beauty and an excellent voice. She just happened to win AI. I don't think it's been a crutch for her. But I can see how it's been a crutch for others.

So true, Chris.
I was backstage at a recent Aerosmith concert.
Minutes before showtime, crew started handing out weights (10 lb dumbells, I think)to the band. These guys were actually pumping iron!
I've heard Shania would do a few hundred tummy crunches before every concert.
It ain't just about music, it's show biz.
I often read comments here where guys talk about performers and either say they're hot, or out of shape. Visual is important.
I remember the days of hearing a song and wondering what the band looked like. No more.

If it was a joke and had planned it, she must have already known she had lost.
Everyone's first reaction to it is probably most true, it looks to me that her anger was real, what needs to be seen is what she did after she was out of the view of the camera.

Concerning "American Idol", let's remember that it's called American Idol, not American Singer, or American Musician, or American Entertainer. They're looking for someone that America can Idolize. Ya gotta look the part or, as the say in south Philly, fuggedaboudit!"
