It seems all good things country emerge out of Texas these days.
I just bought a CD with a young lady named Christine Mims on the Yellow Rose Label.
In my opinion she delivers the most tastefully produced rendition of "DonĀ“t Touch Me" I have ever heard.
If you like really talented vocal work and intelligent producing you should give it a listen. The CD has a fine mix of jazzy tunes and country classics. I promise you won`t be disappointed.

Interestingly, I just sent Bobby Flores a note about that CD a few weeks back. Specifically mentioning that song as not falling into the common cliches that most female vocalists use when performing it.

I think Christine re-defined the song while remaining very faithful to the original. That's tough to do with an old warhorse like "Don't Touch Me".

The rest of the CD is superb, as well. Full of steel by Detamore (tone to die for) and Reinhard.

Thanks guys for your nice comments about this record! It is one of my favorite albums I have ever worked on and I know Christine and Bobby will appreciate what you had to say as well.

For those of you who would like a taste of Randy Rinehard playing "Don't Touch Me", click here.

Jeff, are you sure you didn't put the "tone to die for" comment beside the wrong name?

Tommy, thanks for the sound sample! Great tone and super mix and dynamics. Most of the CD's I have purchased in the past 2 years have come from labels like Yellow Rose and they stay in my play list for a long time.

I had the pleasure of attending the CD release party for this CD with Mr. Detamore, and got a copy. She sounded just as good live as she does on record, if not better. It's in my steady rotation.

I really think this CD deserves to be spread to the "masses" outside the
"countryrealm".
It has all the makings of a superstardom CD.
The way the strings are produced reminds me of the way Chet Atkins used to do them - on this CD they just sound better.
Should you ever decide to make another one with Ms Mims I`ll be the first in line to buy one.

WOW!!! I don't know who Mr. Detamore is, but I will put that intro to "Don't Touch me" right up there with John Hughey's "Just Look At Us". Absolutley gorgeous.I can't stop playing it.

No Tommy, Jeff didn't make an error. All the players in Texas are aware of " Mr. Tone Personified". It's very true that Randy is also a leader in the pack, but no wool over the eyes for the world to see. Jeff called it right.
