We will take risks, embrace change, and always exceed the expectations of those we serve.”

| Sounds like The Corporation had a week-long off-site meeting where they worked on their "Mission Statement" which is now probably plastered on all the walls in their offices. It's just so insipid, oops, I mean 'inspiring'... |

IMHO, yes and no. Their statement is so much gobbledygook that it's a perfect match for much of the music they've been heralding of late. On the other hand, I'd say they're falling way short on emotion. The modern stuff is more about how good the artist and special effects look on video and much less about music, poetry and emotion.
My "compliments" to the CMA on this bold and inspiring statement.

| ..sounds like the annual "Management Motivational Retreats" that I was required to attend during my working days! Other than spending budget money for an intermission away from the "grind" for stressed management personnel, it accomplished nothing. |

I have an original CMA "p.r." folder that they distributed circa '73. In it,it makes the statement,(claim) that they will "Insure that Country Music retains its individuality." Yeah,right.

| What bothers me the most is I truly believe everything played on radio is bought and paid for in one way or the other. Some of it is not what the public wants to hear, but what some guy in a distant place wants you to hear. There are many radio stations pretending to be local stations but all of their music programing is decided in some distant place. Only 3 or 4 people decide what you get to hear, and what you will like. |
