Fair enough. ".. if I heard it" made it sound as tho you hadn't heard it yet.
I'm downloading various songs from it now. "Stars Are Blind" sounds OK to me. She certainly sings right in tune, and the drummer keeps very steady time. I am however slightly disturbed by harmonic ambiguity at the end of the verses where, in addition to the expected dominant harmony, one also hears tonic harmony superimposed in the bass and synth pads.

Hmmm, I see that in addition to these audio files, there are some Paris Hilton videos available for download.

I think this video is too dark. You'd think she could afford a good lighting director.

As in most modern pop music of this kind you can be pretty sure that the vocals has been through some extensive autotune doctoring and the drums are most likely programmed (or 'audio quantized' after they were recorded).

I have a 24 year old daughter who is much prettier than Paris. But I am prejudice. My daughter is in her last year of College taking nurseing courses. My daughter can't sing, but singing isn't everything Earnest.

Call me shallow...........I love Paris Hilton.

Well, she got 1 and 1/2 stars in the Times:

The cheap shot going around about the breathless musical debut of Paris, Pop Star, is that with the likes of producers and songwriters Scott Storch, Kara DioGuardi and J.R. Rotem at the helm, your grandmother could get a hit single.

But after an honest listen to the 11 songs on her dance-minded album, the reality — and the house of Paris is built on reality, albeit reality TV and videotape — is "Book that studio, Granny!"

Paris haters may be disappointed to discover that "Paris" (in stores today) isn't truly awful. That's the grandma factor at work. With infectious beats and hooky sonic textures established by the hit-laden pros surrounding her, all Hilton has to bring to the party is, well, Paris.

Her wispy voice, frequently double- or multitracked to create the illusion of substance, can make Betty Boop seem like Streisand. Her primary role model seems to be Gwen Stefani at her fluffiest, and the guiding musical principle here is the time-honored "KISS" — keep it simple, stupid.

Melodies rarely extend beyond four- and five-note motifs uttered repeatedly, creating little demand on a voice with little to offer. Themes are equally basic: Paris is sexy, Paris knows she's sexy, Paris wants everyone in the known universe to revel in her sexitude. Most songs are content to feed action on a dance floor with an inordinate amount of sonorous low frequencies, again to simulate musical heft.

Her single "Stars Are Blind," however, brings a hint of a musical identity to the mix. This catchy reggae-lite tune gives listeners more than a groove to latch onto with its Blondie-esque "The Tide Is High" pulse and endearing melody, and she projects vulnerability credibly.

The only truly authoritative vocals turn up in guest raps from Fat Joe and Jadakiss on the über-egocentric "Fightin' Over Me." On her own, she coos ("I Want You"), she purrs ("Turn You On"), she preens (remaking the Rod Stewart hit "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" — wasn't once more than enough?), she pouts ("Jealousy").

Like cotton candy, the food group she most resembles, what may seem like a mouthful for a moment is gone in the blink of an eye, leaving a sweet aftertaste and empty calories behind.

I, like, don't plan to buy this CD.

They have studio machines that fix out-of-tune vocals now. There's no way to know if she actually sings in tune or not.

I think that Paris Hilton is brilliant. The dumb blonde thing is all an act, perpetuating a very successful commercial image/product. She's not dumb.

So now we know what this skinny, homely billionaire actually does to deserve so much attention from the public... she’s a singer. Now it all makes sense.

She ain't that hot. I prefer the corn fed gals. She may not be dumb but she is annoying. Trashy even. If I was heir to the Hilton fortune I think would class it up a smidge.

And when she calls to offer $100,000 to play guitar and steel on her eight-week tour, we'll all race to turn it down to preserve our hard-won integrity....

I watched a few of those Simple Life shows and i think she has a very sexy speaking voice.
