Haven't heard that name in ages. I have a couple of albums by him. I really enjoyed them at the time. I'll have to dig them out and refresh my memory.

I don't know what happened to Billy but I know that George Edwards played steel for him after he left Hank Jr.

Ben, speaking of George Edwards, has anyone heard how he is doing? Haven't heard a thing in a long while.

George Edwards is a long time friend of mine from our early 20's back in Pa. Every time I see Don Helms, I ask about Geo., because; they are located in the same area of Hendersonville, TN and since the stroke that Geo. had some time ago, Don was driving him to places he needed to go, including the n.t.s.g.a. monthly~meetings and the Super Jams! However, since Don also had a stroke some time ago, he is now unable to drive Geo. around, so; Don tells me that Geo. is doing well, but; spends most of his time at home and taking care. So, both are OK after their individual health problems, but; just a little out of circulation at the present time! Back in Pa. Geo. and I got together quite often and attended each other's gigs when time permitted! That was a long time ago now and part of the ‘good-ole days’, back in the 50's & 60's! I even saw him in Honolulu with the Johnny Wright – Kitty Wells Tour, while I was living there in 1980!

Thanks for the update John. I also have known George since 1970. I met him in N.Y.C. when he was playing there. He ordered my Sho-Bud D10 for me through Shot Jackson. He said it was one of the last ones that they made before selling out to Gretch. Kept it for 27 years then got a Zum. Sold the Sho-Bud to Larry Sasser. Next time you see him, say "Hi" for me.
