Joe Maphis wrote "Dim lights, thick smoke"
"After the fire is gone" is credited to one L.E. White on one album I own.
There are several "Fire on the Mountain"s. I don't know who wrote the Marshall Tucker Band tune, but there is a fiddle tune by that name who's pedigree disappears into the mists of time.

God Bless you Billy, for wanting to track down the writers, and pay a mechanical royalty. I wish more folks thought like you do. I find songs that I wrote, on projects here and there, and wish the artist would pay me, but I WON'T ask for it.......Well, unless it sold a couple hundred thousand copies.

As of 1/1/06, the mechanical license fee is 9.1 cents per song for songs under 5 minutes in length, with a minimum of 500 copies. There's also a processing fee ($8-$10) when you apply for the license. Therefore, the total cost for rights would be about $465 for a cover a run of 500 CDs, with 10 songs. These figures are for the Harry Fox Agency. Other, I believe, will license fewer copies (250) if you wish.
